A small beetle with a grand name

Here is the rather small but handsome and grandly named carabid, Demetrias imperialis which we recorded at Woods Mill yesterday during an aquatic invertebrate survey. Thanks to Alex and Maddy for helping out. I also identified my first Pirata spider which turned out to be Pirata piratica. I added a few species to my list this morning whilst identifying some of the sample and end the day on 3889 species.
